The story you read took place over 40 years ago. My steak-loving (former) husband has been (happily, I think) re-married for almost 40 years. And my current husband and I have been together for almost 30 years in a marriage that gets richer and deeper every year. It was impossible to know at the time (and the breakup was almost unendurably sad), but for us it was the right thing to do.

So happy that you and your wife are honeymooners again. Bravo! It seems you and I are among the very blessed!
